The collection contains a note acknowledging receipt of 110 francs from Monsieurs Gide and Crepet; five brief letters to Monsieur Laumonier about his translations of Poe's tales; a brief letter to Mario Uchard in which Poe's Marie Rogêt is mentioned; and a manuscript leaf in which Baudelaire bemoans A. Stoepel's request that he reduce the 800 lines of Longfellow's "Song of Hiawatha" to 300 lines in French.
